6. Creating a new project
- In Projects, click + New project (or scroll down to the teams), choose a team and click New project on its card.
- The New project dialog opens with the chosen team at the top. If the team exists in several languages, choose the language the team will work in (ES / EN): it determines the language of the documents and of the conversation with the roles.
- Project name — it becomes the folder name (for example
my-product). - Where to create it:
- In a folder on this computer — click Choose where to create it… and pick the folder where it will be created.
- In a git repository, to share it — enter the Repository URL (it must exist and be empty) and choose where to clone it. The app clones it with your git credentials, adds the team and pushes the first commit. Afterwards, in Team, you can enable collaboration.
- Model of each role (optional) — expand the section to choose which model each role will work with (see Models per role).
Installable skills — only if some role of the team (in the chosen language) has installable skills. It is open, with “{n} selected” on the right. In Install for you pick the agent (Claude Code, the default, or Codex): it only decides the folder they are copied to (
.claude/skillsor.agents/skills), not the agent of the chats. Below, per role, the skills compatible with that agent, each with its checkbox unticked, what it brings and its source; Select all / Clear all. Separately, Not available for {agent}: the ones that only exist for the other agent, with their Suggested equivalent if there is one (listed above, with its checkbox). Switching agent keeps the boxes that are still compatible. Nothing is installed unless you tick it. - Click Create and open. The project opens in the workspace.
With skills ticked, the button says Creating and installing skills…: the app creates the project and then downloads each ticked skill from its source (a folder with its
SKILL.md) into the agent’s folder. When the project opens, a notice at the top says what was installed (“✓ Skills installed in.claude/skills: …”) or what failed and why (“⚠ k of n installed. Couldn’t install …”; you can copy it by hand). If a skill folder already existed, it is left untouched. A failure never stops the project from being created or opened. In a project created in a git repository, the skills are copied after the first commit: they stay unpushed until your next commit.
The project folder contains a complete copy of the team: team-ai-console.json (configuration), team-ai-console.workflow.json (the workflow), the team/ folder (workflow document, role documents, templates) and the empty docs/ folder, where the team will place its documents.
