19. Privacy, data and costs

  • Everything happens on your computer. Projects, documents, conversations and settings are files on your disk. Each project keeps its personal state (chats, active role, settings, usage record) in .team-ai-console/ inside the project itself, with a .gitignore so it is not shared by accident.
  • The app’s only connection of its own is the license server, to activate and revalidate the license, for the free trial and to check for updates. It sends the license key or identifier, an irreversible machine fingerprint, a readable machine name, the app version and the operating system and, for the trial only, your email.
  • Never sent: code, documents, file or project names, conversations, git credentials or agent sessions.
  • The agent is your own program with your own account. What it sends to its provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) is the same as when you use it in a terminal.
  • Costs: the app does not charge for AI usage. Signed in with your plan (Claude Pro/Max, ChatGPT), usage counts against that plan’s limits. With an API key or a cloud provider, every message is billed per use: the app detects this and warns you. To avoid unexpected charges, the app does not pass API keys found in the system environment to the agent.
  • Collaboration: the data travels only between your computer and your own git repository.
